Your Donation's Impact
By donating these items to Catholic Charities you are making an immediate difference in the lives of individuals and families of all faiths and backgrounds in times of crisis. This includes our mental health clients and others who come to our doors in dire need. Basic needs must be met before other healing can occur. Only then can people focus on the therapy process, healing and rebuilding their lives which ultimately makes for happier, healthier families and a stronger Siouxland.
What We Do
Catholic Charities has been in our community for over 75 years. We offer charity and mental health services to individuals, children and families of all faiths and backgrounds by independently licensed therapists.
MISSION: Empower and strengthen all individuals and families, through charity, advocacy and mental health services that are inspired by Christ’s love and compassion.
VISION: Serve and help create communities where all people are safe, experience love and feel hope.
Charity, Advocacy and Community Outreach:
Catholic Charities is committed to helping those in crisis. Crises often result in a lack of food, difficulties paying the rent or electricity bill, inability to pay for needed medication, or other basic needs that aren’t being met. Our staff works with community providers and knows relevant services that can help. We stock the Hardy Hope Closet in our Sioux City location with food, clothing and diapers for our clients in dire need as well as some walk-ins needing help immediately.
We also offer free services including: parenting classes suicide support groups, and crisis debriefing services to first responders as well as immigration legal and support services.
Mental Health Services:
We offer individual, couples and family therapies including: child/adolescent, grief/loss, pornography addiction, and evidence based approaches such as PCIT (specialized for children with behavioral disorders) and EMDR (specialized treatment for trauma, abuse and PTSD).
Through the Pathways to Hope and Healing program, struggling or at-risk school-age children receive free mental health assessments.
Reaching out to underserved populations is in our mission. At the Sioux City office, we have two of the few licensed Spanish speaking therapists in Siouxland.
