What We Do

Helping Siouxland Families Shine.

PROGRAMS

Family Development, Education & Support Services – parenting services to strengthen families
through parent education classes, family advocates, and individualized home visits we help parents be the best role models to their children.
Families work as a team with our experienced staff through our Healthy Opportunities for Parents to Experience Success (HOPES) Program and the Resource Center.
Healthy Opportunities for Parents to Experience Success (HOPES) is a family support program that
provides intensive services to families and children from birth to age 5 through home visits helping families develop strong and healthy relationships with each other in a nurturing environment.  Resource Center offers parenting education and support to families with children age 0-12.
Six to twelve parenting sessions are taught individually in the family’s home or at the administrative office, based on need. Group classes are held at various sites in the community.

Stella Sanford Child Development Center Programs–providing outstanding learning experiences at four locations:
Infants 0-23 months – West High Infant Center, located within West High School
Children 2-5-year old’s – Stella Sanford Child Development Center – 1724 Geneva
and 6100 Morningside Ave.
Preschool 4-year old’s – Located within Liberty Elementary School
Preschool and childcare center – 6100 Morningside Ave.

Our focus is on the child’s social-emotional development. We help prepare children for school and assure they reach their development milestones. A balanced mix of play and planned experiences allow teachers to provide opportunities for children to “take-in” the environment around them.

Supervised Apartment Living (SAL) and foster care programfor teens ages 16 ½ until completion of their high school diploma/GED.

Through education, training, mentoring and support, teens are encouraged and empowered by building life skills such as: self-care, cooking, cleaning, money management, interviewing for a job, and leisure time planning to help them live on their own. Learning to live independently is the goal of this program.
